Defining a New Criterion

We will now take our example one step further and define a criterion for the input of fruit tree data. We will call the new criterion 'Sample criterion 3'. The data type 'Choice group' will be used as a criterion type, permitting the selection of several values from a list.

Once you have entered the criterion name and data type, enter the list values and click [In addition]. A dialog box will appear in which you can enter the new list value. If you want to change the name of a list value, double-click on it with the left mouse button. A dialog box will now appear for changing the value. By clicking [Accept changes in field], the newly created or modified criterion is ready to use. Now create the following criteria in the criterion group 'fruit trees':

Criterion name: Yields – Criterion type / Data type: Range of choice

Criterion name: Regular yields – Criterion type / Data type: Yes or no

Criterion name: Ripeness – Criterion type / Data type: Circular range

Close the database editor by clicking [Close database editor], check the box 'Use user-defined database' in the criterion server of the user database, and exit and save your defined database structure by clicking [OK]. The program will now adopt the criteria that you have defined into its criterion structure. You can now access the criteria that you have created using the criterion tree.
