Help Program: The Green Office Manager

When you install Plantus, the Green Office Manager is automatically installed with it. If you have installed more than one program of the Green Office line (e.g., Plantus, Plantus South or the Perennials CD), the Green Office Manager serves to manage the links and mediation between these programs and the Windows NT File Explorer.

The filter list and pick list file types (*.FXF and *.PXF, respectively) are the same for all programs of the Green Office family.

Each program automatically attempts to link up with these file types. Hence, double-clicking on a file in the File Explorer causes it to be opened with the corresponding Green Office program, in accordance with the file type.

However, Windows does not permit a file type to be linked up with more than one program at a time. For instance, if an attempt were to be made to activate a Plantus South filter list using the BdS Perennials CD, an error message would appear.

Here, the purpose of the Green Office Manager is to 'mediate' between the programs. To activate it, start the program via the Plantus program group.

Click once on the command [Register file types]. Now, you can either quit the Green Office Manager or move it to the Windows taskbar (next to the clock) by clicking [Hide].

In future, the Green Office Manager will be activated for all Green Office products that open a filter list or pick list by a double-click in the File Explorer. The Manager then mediates between the file and the respective Green Office product, starting the latter to open the file.
