Photo links. The photo manager enables you to modify the links between plants and photos and to read your own photos into the photo archive. You can activate it using the command [System.Servers.Photo manager].
Picture names. The layout of the photo manager corresponds to that of the usual photo file, the difference being the order of the listed photos, which are sorted according to picture names. Here, a 'picture name' can be understood as a freely assigned code. If you wish to assign new picture names, it is best to begin the number series with a letter code. This makes it easier to search for the picture names later on.
The following commands are used for making changes in the photo archive:
Change parameter: Changes the author link, the additional descriptive text and the picture name (photo ID) of the photo.
Create plant link: This command creates an additional link between a photo and a plant. If you discover that there is no link, you can create one at this point. The global list is opened when you use this command. Next, you choose the plant with which the photograph is to be linked by a double-click. A message will appear asking you to confirm that you really want to establish this link. All links with plants are shown in the yellow text field that opens when you leave the cursor over an image momentarily. You can create as many links as you like between photos and plants.
Delete plant link: You use this command to delete the link between a photo and a plant. When you use this command, a dialog box will open in which you can select the plants for which an image link is to be deleted. If you really want to delete the link, confirm this in the dialog box that now appears. Note that a photo for which all links have been deleted is no longer available in the photo database.
Import photos: You can use this command to import a photo file. The formats that Plantus accepts are BMP, PCX, GIF, TIF and JPEG. When you choose this command, a dialog box will appear in which you can open the new plant photo with [Open file].

The dialog box is basically self-explanatory. The icon width and height indicate the format of the photo symbols (thumbnails) for display in the photo files. The JPEG quality is the characteristic compression value used for processing the digital photos that are used in Plantus. Generally, you will not need to make any changes here. Try to use only photos that can be fitted into a format of around 1,024 X 1,024 pixels with image processing software such as Corel Paint or Photoshop.
Delete photos. With this command, the currently selected photo is deleted from the photo database, together with all associated links.
